Expertise
The TU/e Supercomputing Center supports research across four main topics. For each, we offer advice, hands-on support, training and a route to the right compute infrastructure. Not sure where your work fits? Get in touch and we will connect you with the right expert.
High-Performance Computing
Running large simulations and data analyses on parallel clusters. We advise on which infrastructure suits your workload, help you optimize your code, and help you scale up when your research outgrows its current system.
- Find the right platform: from your own workstation and departmental systems to the TU/e Umbrella HPC Cluster, Snellius at SURF, and EuroHPC systems such as LUMI and Leonardo. See the HPC staircase.
- Learn: HPC primers, massively parallel job submission and HPC efficiency sessions at our HPC School.
AI & LLMs
GPU computing for deep learning and large-scale model training, and large language models hosted at TU/e.
- Spike-1: NVIDIA DGX B200 platform for AI research at TU/e, with AI engineering support from our team. Companies can access AI computing power through Supercomputing Brabant. About Spike-1.
- Sovereign LLMs: state-of-the-art language models hosted on Spike-1, with no external vendor in between. Read the announcement.
- Workshops: Towards Democratized Academic LLM Hosting, On-Premises RAG LLM Hosting, NVIDIA's Deep Learning Workshop and the LUMI AI Workshop.
Simulation
Support for simulation and modelling software, from setting up your first run to scaling it up and visualizing the results.
- Software: guides for ANSYS (Fluent, Workbench, Lumerical), COMSOL, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, LAMMPS, CP2K and more on the Umbrella cluster. See available software.
- Training: CFD with OpenFOAM, COMSOL training, and scientific visualization with ParaView and Blender at our HPC School.
Quantum Computing
What quantum computing is, what it is not, and how it relates to supercomputing.
- Eindhoven Quantum Computing Workshop: part of the Autumn HPC School '26, with an introduction to quantum computing, quantum at SURF, quantum and CFD, hands-on sessions with Quantum Inspire and a lab tour. See quantumeindhoven.nl.
